Jogja Last Friday Ride Celebrates First Birthday

YOGYA - Road Mangkubumi Yogya which are usually crowded and noisy with the then-passing motor vehicle, suddenly quiet voice machinery of the motor, car or bus, when hundreds of bike meets along the road about one kilometer.

Friday (29/04/2011) night starting at 20:00 pm, lovers of bicycles in Yogya called Jogja Last Friday Ride (JLFR) celebrate the first birthday.

Activities bicycle cycling by various communities and individuals, on the last Friday of each month, according to a participant who is also a coordinator, Theo Hendra Adithya, aims to foster the use of bicycles as an environmentally friendly means of transportation for the citizens of Yogyakarta.


"Here we are together, do not know the community, and other types of bikes. Jogja Everyone who wants to ride can join with us,"Obviously, Theo, while using a megaphone, commanding his colleagues to order on the road.

Various types of bikes, ranging from fixed gear, folding bikes, mountain bikes, racing bikes, low ride, high ride, BMX until moped also used to participate in activities that enough attention these road users.

Theo said, about 500 people participated in this event. "We are not a community you know, this is an activity initiated one year ago to ride together in Yogyakarta, " he added.

JLFR birthday celebration tonight at the Stadium took Start Kridosono and centered in front of the BCA Mangkubumi. This event will be enlivened with a variety of competitions, such as race, track stand and long jump.

Asked about what Mangkubumi Road crowd with a motor vehicle did not interfere with this event, Theo casually said, "We will see later aja lah, can set it. The important thing is we have good intentions. Mending roads full of bicycles instead of motorcycles or cars filled with the same. Free pollution ".
